Elevate Your Adventurous Side in the Midwest



 

As a kid growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, I thought you had to go west to enjoy some outdoor adventure. It wasn't until I came back to Nebraska after 6 years living in Colorado that I realized there is more in our backyard than advertised. On the other side of the Missouri River, just 30 minutes outside of Omaha, lies a rare geographical region called the Loess Hills. To sum it up, glaciers around 15 thousand years ago moved and melted through the Missouri Valley region while heavy winds helped form what is now called the Loess Hills.
In this tiny pocket of the Loess Hills lies Pottawattamie County, which homes two of our favorite backyard destinations to get outside. Hitchcock Nature Center & Crescent Hill (previously known as Mt. Crescent Ski Hill) After many years of enjoying the outdoor recreation that these two facilities have to offer, Pottawattamie County bought the previously known Mt. Crescent & began their plan to create one of the largest nature areas in the state in an effort to increase access to high-quality public land and recreation in Iowa.

This is where Vest Visuals got involved. After discussions with the Pottawattamie Conservation team, the plan was to create a 60-second and a 30-second commercial centered around the four-season recreation plan at Crescent Hill and its neighbor, Hitchcock Nature Center. The intended final use of this content was for their new website, social media, and OTT advertising.
Now enough with the backstory.
