Spread Your Creative Wings

ree

As a creative, I find it hard to focus on just one industry. Although my passion for film comes from being outdoors, I often find myself wanting to break outside my comfort zone and try something new. So when Bumble Bee Blinds (a window treatment company) needed a fresh new look to their brand, my thoughts started stirring. Within the month, we had a concept, script, storyboard, & a production date scheduled.

When I film for TV or documentaries, I typically have little time to enhance my environment. When working on this commercial, it was actually refreshing to have the freedom to choose every detail from the wardrobe options to what I was going to use for glass.

Stepping into this new role as a Director w/10-man crew, I found myself having a love/hate relationship with it for one reason. I like to get my hands dirty when making something and I noticed it was hard to keep my hands off the camera. I found that when I stepped back and worked on better articulating my vision to the crew, the rest would take care of itself.

Big shout out to my producer Cael Hospodka & our local crew in Omaha. We spent the day filming up to five deliverables that the client can now use for national or local advertisement.

Overall it was a blast being able to work with everyone on this vision & stretch my creative wings.

Best,

WANT TO WORK TOGETHER?

Collaboration is key in the world of storytelling
and really it is one of the best parts of the process. Creating with people in front of the camera & behind, gives me no great feeling.
If you feel similar, please reach out :)
